I remember years ago, when I saved up all my tip money and made the jump and bought a DSLR, that I thought I knew all about. Okay, I knew I didn’t know anything about it, but I wanted to, so I figured I’ll just fake it till I make it! I told myself this camera was just a hobby, and that I wouldn’t go anywhere with it, and that I wanted to focus on my career. Well, one thing lead to another and here I am LOVING capturing memories of my clients, and building a small business!
It is definitely trying at times, but I love being able to capture memories for my clients! I grew up in a family that everyone was obsessed with cameras- everyone. My mom and her sisters all had cameras, and I always just thought it was about the camera. But, it was more about the memories that the camera froze in place, to last forever! While browsing through Pinterest, (Love Pinterest!) I saw a small business owner write a letter to herself. It was to the fresh faced her, who was just starting out as an entrepreneur. I began to think what would a letter to myself say? I then sat down, pencil in hand, and began writing out that letter, and I want to share it with you all! You may remember Ashley and Allen from their engagement session in Newborn, about a month later, I got to be a fly on the wall at their wedding! The week of their wedding, while I was worrying about the hurricane hitting and making their day tough, Ashley was juggling finding a new venue for her wedding! I was worried about rain and not having any leaves left on the trees! Thankfully, our area of Georgia was blessed and didn't get hit like others did! I reminded myself, how trivial the lack of leaves are compared to the loss the people in the path of the hurricane have faced and continue to face.
Ashley's aunt welcomed the wedding ceremony and reception to their property. The ceremony and reception both, were simply and tastefully decorated with wines and rustic decorations. Her reception included a crawlfish low country boil and Bar-B-Que, and of course cake and a little dancing! Here is just a sneak peak into Ashley and Allen's day! |
